World Galloway Conference (WGC)

The next World Galloway Conference is in Canada in October 2012.  The Canadian Galloway Association will have all the up to date information relating to this conference on their Web Site.

Tuesday, October 2

Hotel bookings must be made by August 1- 2012 directly to the Holiday Inn.

There will be early registration and an informal meet and greet on Tuesday evening.

Thursday, October 4
Galloway Day

Breakfast available at 6:30 at delegates cost
9 am sharp on the bus
10:30 arrive at Glen Rock- Hans Osthaus- Markdale, ON (whites and reds)
12 on bus- lunch on bus due to time restraints
2 pm arrive at Tri R Way and Gowrie Galloways- the Robertsons, Phelpston (blacks and reds)
6 pm dinner

Friday, October 5
Niagara Day

7 am sharp on the bus
Breakfast at Glenfiddich- the McIlwraiths, Puslinch
9:30 leave for Niagara area and a visit to Andy and Lisa Sprostons ( organically raised livestock) and to Jack and Sandra MacIntyre near Beamsville (belties)
Leave at 1:30 for Hernder Estates for a wine tasting near Vineland
On the bus for Niagara Falls and a bus tour down the gorge to Niagara on the Lake
Dinner at a vineyard restaurant.

Saturday, October 6
History

7:30 am sharp on the bus
Arrive at St Jacobs Farmers Market ( breakfast at market is at guests cost)
Leave for Avon Acres- Bob and Marjorie Irvine- Shakespeare (silver duns)
Then to Cranberry Hill- Brad and Colleen Card- Tavistock (silver duns and belties)
Lunch at Cranberry Hill

Leave at 1:00 pm for Suncrest- the Salter family- Molesworth (blacks and duns)

Leave at 3:00 pm for Adam Brubacher-Wroxeter considerable number of Galloways raised by an old order Mennonite family

Leave at 4:30 for dinner.

Return to Guelph

Sunday, October 7
Show Day

Breakfast available at 7:00 am at delegates cost
9:00 am on the bus
Stop at Geordawn- Dawn and George Van Kampen- Laurel (black, whites and Jerseys)
Erin Agricultural Fair
Lunch at the fair grounds supplied
Galloway show and 7 other breeds shown as well.
Down home dinner after the Galloway show

Return to Guelph and the end of the week.

The cost per person for the week will be $300 including conference, tour bus, lunches and dinners, breakfast is at delegates cost each day except for Friday

The best airport to arrive at is Toronto Pearson (YYZ), about 45 minutes from Guelph
