Belmont Park was established with both black & dun belties
in 1975 and in 1976 some 13 head were imported from New Zealand.
A second stud, " Clan Ranald " was started by Hume Macdonald
& Deb Painter in 1992. The two studs now have in excess of
a hundred breeders &
one of the widest genetic bases following the introduction of
genetic material from the U.K., U.S.A & N.Z. Both studs have
achieved considerable show ring success with numerous Championships
etc. even including the prestigious "Most Successful Beef
Cattle Exhibitor"
all
breeds at Royal Adelaide Show. Importantly the studs steers have
also achieved acclaim both "on the hoof on the hooks."

Ironbark Belted Galloway Stud is situated in SE Queensland, approximately
35 kilometers from the Gold Coast. It is on a main tourist route
which offers wonderful exposure for these unique animals. The
stud began in 2004 and through a successful breeding program (using
sires Lown Brae Kirk & New England Charlie Churchill) and
a number of acquisitions now includes 25 stud females & 30
commercial breeders.

Longfield Stud was formed in 1985 with the purchase of 4 stud
cows from CPR Stud at Wodonga Victoria. The stud was expanded
in the early 1990's by the purchase of all remaining stock when
CPR Stud dispersed. Longfield Stud later purchased the Shiralee
Stud when it dispersed. Longfield Stud has enjoyed great success
in the showring over the past few years particularly with bulls.Longfield
Roberto has been the Supreme exhibit at Royal Canberra for the
past two years (2001 &2002). Longfield Viper was Grand Champion
at Royal Melbourne in 2001. These bulls are currently being used
in herd as well as Shiralee Moonshine and Northfield Donald. Semen
is available from both Roberto and Viper at $55 per straw . Longfield
Stud is committed to breeding quality cattle suitable for thriving
under all conditions as well as being successful in the show ring.

England Belted Galloway Stud was established in 1998 by Francie
and Duncan Maclean with commercial Belted Galloway cattle the
stud was later joined by Francie's father Stig on the purchase
of a large line
of
Registered Belted Galloway females from one of the largest original
studs in Australia "Midfern" in Victoria. All of the
stud's cattle are from imported bloodlines; these genetics have
been expanded upon by using
current
sires available in Australia through artificial insemination including
the recent introduction of Scottish bloodlines from the historic
genetics of Mochrum Stud along with Shrialee and Longfield. New
England Stud
is
enjoying success in the show ring competing at Sydney, Canberra
and Toowoomba Royal Shows. Commercial and registered cattle are
always available and visitors are most welcome.

Warialda began from humble beginnings in 1980, breeding commercial
Belted Galloways producing crossbreed vealers. After purchasing
two leading female lines in 1990, we have enjoyed success with
our pure
breed herd at Royal Melbourne, Adelaide and Canberra Shows.
Our
aim today is to produce genetics that achieve meat value in a
commercial environment while retaining the easy care mothering
ability of the traditional Belted Galloway.
Both
Stud and Commercial herd of 60 Breeders run on 700mm rainfall
hill country North of Melbourne.
